During these weeks, Third graders began the process ofdeveloping their personal project, which tries to involve them in a meaningful, authentic and deep learning experience, in order to develop academic skills, encourage reflection and promote action.
In the process, they have been identifying the different Design Process steps in order to identify a community´s need or problem and create an invention in order to solve it. That is why, while exemplifying each step, children have been enjoying hands on activities engaging them in trials and errors experimentation, learning from mistakes and putting theory in practice. During planning and drawing the invention´s phase, we created a first “robot prototype” with recycled material. Children had fun!
During this process, a great variety of creative ideas have been emerging and abilities have been developed.
